How Does a Commercial Water Softener Work
Aqua pro water softener removes minerals that exist naturally in water sources through ion exchange. Water is filtered through plastic resin beads coated in sodium molecules, which interact with magnesium, calcium, and other metallic minerals. Since calcium and magnesium ions carry a positive charge, they interact with the negatively charged resin beads. When the beads interact with the hard minerals, they capture their positive molecules and release sodium into the water. Sodium molecules replace the calcium and magnesium, thereby reducing the mineral content of the water and preventing buildup and interference with cleaning chemicals.

All custom made models have four distinct cycles of operations:
Backwash – hydraulic cleaning; up-flow
Slow rinse – displaces residual brine; down-flow
Brine refill – restores resin to sodium form; down-flow
Fast rinse – prepares softening resin for service cycle; down-flow.Operation & Maintanance
Is extremely simple. After the initial set-up, the system is virtually self-sustaining. With the Automatic Head, back-flushing and clearing of trapped contaminants occur automatically, with a manual head this is done by hand with a lever. Replace media approximately every three years.
SolutionAll these problems can be eliminated efficiently by installing an Automatic Water Softener. They utilise the ion exchange process where the calcium is replaced with the more soluble sodium. This is all done automatically using a timer control which allows the water softener resin bed to backwash and regenerates with a brine solution as required.
